Welcome to my homepage!
I will always be a teacher; however, I am now educating students from a different classroom and role. I served six years as Minnie Ruffin's Assistant Principal. I am honored and grateful to have been given the opportunity to currently serve as Principal.
My educational history and professional activities include the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Professional Certification, Elementary Principal, Secondary Principal, the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Supervision of Student Teaching, Northeast Louisiana University Teacher Education Program, +30 Special Education Mild-Moderate K-12, Northeast Louisiana University, M.A. History, Northeast Louisiana University, B.A. Social Studies.
Leadership Activities: Curriculum Instruction, Teacher- Leader Summit, School Support Institute, Monroe City School District Leadership Academy, Monroe City School District Professional Development Committee, Back to School Committee, Louisiana Department of Education Standard Revision Committee for Social Studies Scope and Sequence, Standards, Comprehensive Curriculum, Louisiana Teacher Assessment Program, Supervisor of Student-Teacher Certification.
Principal Vidrine once asked the faculty to examine their attitude towards teaching by answering the following question: Would you place your child in your class? My answer then and now: yes. I would place my child in my classroom ( Minnie Ruffin) without any hesitation. Today if that same question is asked, without hesitation, I would respond- I would send my child to the school where I now serve as Principal. I love being apart of the educational process and I am actively involved because I care! My daily reminder for teachers:
Tell me and I forget
Teach Me
and I remember
Involve me
And I learn
