Hello, my name is Mrs. Olivest Wilson, and I am excited to be your child's music and art teacher.  Part-time Children's Librarian at the Ouachita Parish Library.   B.S. Degree in elementary education from Grambling State University (Grambling , Louisiana).  Obtained a Master Degree and plus 30 from the University of Louisiana ( Monroe, Louisiana). I've done furthur studies at Chatman University (California).   

 

Organized (chairman) the first Junior Beta Clubs at Carver  Elementary School and Minnie Ruffin Elementary School. Chairman of the social studies fairs at Lexington Elementary School and Carver Elementary Schools. Black History Bowl sponsor for Minnie Ruffin Elementary School. Students participated in the Black History Bowl. Students won cash prizes for themselves and the Minnie Ruffin School Library. Books about African Americans were purchased for the library. Today, students are reading books purchased with the cash prizes. Organized (chairman) the Black History Bowl for the Ouachita Parish Public Library on 18th Street (Monroe, Louisiana).

 

In my free time I enjoy reading, watching TV, cooking, sewing, arts & craft, and spending time with family and friends.
