                                                 Study Skills Course Syllabus

Instructional Goal

This course is designed to improve student learning in academic and work environments. Students will learn several researched-based strategies to improve reading, writing, vocabulary, mathematics, test-taking, and the capabilities to research and to use the computer technology. 

 

As per the follow-up group instruction, class activities will focus on organization skills, core class vocabulary skills, note-taking strategies, test-taking strategies, reading and writing skills in the content area, and computation skills and problem-solving skills in the area of mathematics.

Class Rules and Expectation

1. Follow all Wildcat Classroom Rules.

2. Be on time and prepared for class.

3. Respect teachers and classmates.

4. Follow the direction.

5. Remain in your assigned seat unless you have permission to get up.

6. Always ask for permission when you participate in class discussions/instructional activities.

7. Be willing to learn and participate in all classroom activities.

8. Complete all work assigned on a weekly basis.
