Greetings Wildcats! 

 

I am Ms. Shamika Mitchell and I am excited about entering my 22th year as an educator and my sixth year here at Martin Luther King, Jr. Junior High School.  I am proud graduate of Louisiana Tech University (B.A.), Grambling State University (TeachGSU), and Concordia University (M.A.).  

 

 I teach 7th grade Social Studies and Pre- A.P. American History (Honors).  I also serve as the sponsor for the Wildcat cheer team.  During this school year we will begin with the American Revolution and conclude with the Reconstruction Era before statewide testing in the Spring. 

 The next few weeks will be busy as we take on the creation of the our great nation, so  I ask that you  submit your assignments in a timely manner and also take advantage of the after school tutorial program that will be offered here each day Monday- Thursday.
