Bellringer:
Students will enter the classroom in an orderly manner, pick up journals on the way to their seats and

immediately begin copying and working the journal posted on the smartboard.  Students are to copy the

journal number and the entire problem, show all work involved and answer the problem.  When

completed,  journal notebooks will be picked up by one person on each row and returned to the designated

shelf.  (These notebooks will be left in class at all times).  When I grade them, any student with a missing

journal will receive a zero.  I will check journals twice each nine weeks and each entry will be worth two

points.  In case of an absence, I have a box of index cards containing all previous journals at the front

board.  I will NOT accept loose journals or journals containing other notes.  Journals must be separate from

all other notes.

Homework:

Homework assignments will be worth 5 points each. The homework is due two class days after it is assigned. All homework is on-line, so in the case of an absence, students WILL be responsible for homework and quizzes on the due date.  There are plenty of on-line resources to help students with the homework from home.

Tests and Quizzes:

There will be 20 point quizzes after every 2 to 4 sections and a 100 point test at the end of each chapter.  All students will take the test on the scheduled day even if they were absent on the previous day.  Remember there are online resources for each lesson for students needing further explanation or those who are absent.  For students absent the day of a test, no test will be made up during class.  All tests must be made up before school or during RTI within 5 days of a student's return to school using the parish makeup policy.  If a student does not show up for the makeup exam he/she will receive a grade of zero.  It is the student's responsibility to keep track of the missed test and come in for makeups when necessary.

Tutoring and Makeup Work:

I will be available each morning at 7:10 a.m. for any students needing extra help, but you must try working problems before coming in for help. This is also when all makeup exams will be given. If you need to take a makeup exam, be sure to arrive early enough to complete the exam.

Cell Phones:

No cell phone interaction is allowed in the classroom at any time.  For each violation, the phone will be picked up and turned in to administration.  Use of cell phones or other electronic devices when completing homework, quizzes or TESTS is considered cheating and will result in a zero.  On test days students are not allowed to have a phone or device in their possession, instead they are to place their phones in the pouch provided.  If they are caught with such a device, it will be confiscated and they will receive a zero.

Restroom visits:

Each student will be provided with 3 restroom passes per nine weeks.  If they are lost them, left at home, or used up, they will not be given permission to go to the restroom.

School Policies:

All school rules and policies will be enforced in this classroom.  No hoodies allowed.  If you have a book sack, it must be clear or mesh.  No other bags are allowed in the classroom with the exception of small purses or handbags.

Fire or Crisis Drills:

If there is a fire drill, students must exit the classroom to the left, go out the doors near the testing lab, and meet as a group on the right side of the rear parking lot.  (I will call roll and anyone not accounted for will be reported for skipping class).  If any other alarm sounds, students should silently wait for an announcements and directions.
