Students will continue their journey through the i-Ready math curriculum. In 6th grade there are 7 units.
Unit 1: Expressions and Equations with Geometry
Unit 2: Decimals and Fractions
Unit 3: Ratio Reasoning
Unit 4: Ratio Reasoning with Unit Rates and Percent
Unit 5: Equivalent Expressions and Equations with Variables
Unit 6: Positive and Negative Numbers
Unit 7: Statistical Thinking
Each Lesson provides 3-5 sessions. We will complete 1-2 sessions per day. We will begin each lesson with an "Explore" session. We will then "Develop" the skill we are learning. Last, we will "Refine" the skill before taking a quiz after each lesson.
Additional Practice Problems: Each session offers additional practice. We will work through these during class as long as time permits. If we don't finish these problems, I will assign some for homework. (Green tab pages) Whatever isn't completed in class must be finished for homework in the daily lesson. If students behave and participate we will most likely finish what we need to in class.
