What Is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a supportive, evidence-based approach that helps students learn new skills and positive behaviors in small, manageable steps. Instead of overwhelming children with complex tasks, ABA breaks learning down into simple parts and uses encouragement and positive reinforcement to build confidence. It allows us to understand what helps our students learn best and tailor our teaching to support their unique strengths and needs.
How We Use Prompting to Guide Success?
Prompting is a key tool in ABA where we give students gentle hints or assistance—such as a visual cue, a physical guide, or a quick verbal reminder—to help them perform a skill correctly. As our students learn and grow more confident, we gradually fade these hints away so they can succeed entirely on their own. This structured support prevents frustration, encourages independence, and ensures that every small achievement is celebrated along the way.
