Dear Future Fourth and Fifth Graders,

Hi everyone! My name is Ms. Lewis, and I am so excited to be one of your fourth and fifth-grade teachers this year! I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you and making our classroom a fun place to learn, grow, and make memories. Mrs. Talarick and I have been working hard to plan some exciting activities for the beginning of the school year, and we cannot wait to meet you!

This summer, I spent lots of time with the people I love most. My husband, Drew, my 18-month-old daughter, Olivia, and I took a trip to Ocean City, Maryland. We had a great time enjoying the beach and spending time together! I also spent time at Long Beach Island with my family. My two nephews, my niece, and Olivia had so much fun together, and we made lots of special summer memories.

One of my favorite things about summer is spending time with my family. I would love to hear about some of your favorite summer memories when we meet! Did you go anywhere special? Did you try something new? Or maybe you spent time playing your favorite game with family or friends? I can't wait to hear all about it!

This year, I will be teaching reading, writing, and Fundations alongside Mrs. Talarick. I will also be teaching math with Mrs. Mayer, and science and social studies with Ms. Dextraze. Our classroom is located upstairs in the fifth-grade hallway. Fifth grade is going to be an exciting year filled with new learning, new experiences, and lots of opportunities to challenge yourself and have fun!

To my fifth graders: Our fifth-grade team has put together a helpful guide to help you get ready for the year ahead. Be sure to check it out! Before our first day together, I would also love to learn a little more about you. Please complete the survey linked on the right side of my page. Your answers will help me get to know you before we meet!

I hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer. I am so excited for all that this year has in store, and I can't wait to meet you!

See you soon,

Ms. Lewis
