What are Related Services?
Related services are the supportive services or activities necessary for some students with disabilities to maximize their educational outcomes. Any related service or support that helps a student to benefit from or achieve the goals set out in his or her individualized education program (IEP) should be provided by the appropriate related services personnel. Special education and related services are intended to be flexible to meet the needs of an individual student. Appropriately matched to those needs, related services can assist students with disabilities by helping them to:
- Participate in the general education curriculum with their peers
- Meet their annual educational goals
- Take part in extracurricular and nonacademic activities.
The students within my classroom receive related services in Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT) and Speech Therapy as per their individualized education plan (IEP). A schedule of the related serives that your child receives is available upon request.

3:1 Model Consultation Services
This service delivery model allows for increased consultation with teachers and other special education staff to further assist your child in academic achievement. The speech-language specialists, occupational therapists and physical therapists will provide direct services for three weeks and will use the fourth for consultation, observation, assessments, therapy preparation, interdisciplinary meetings and/or parent training sessions.
Parents can make arrangements to meet with the therapist(s) or BCBA for ABA classrooms for parent training or obtaining assistance with strategies to use in the home:
