C2 Families and Students,

 

What a joy it is to welcome you to our second grade classroom! I am absolutely thrilled to begin this wonderful year together.

This is my second year here at Bear Tavern, and I couldn't be happier to be part of this special community. Second grade is truly my favorite grade to teach (this will be my seventh year with second graders!), and after eleven years in education, I can say with certainty that there is something magical about this age. You are at such an exciting point in your learning journey!

 

This year, we will explore so many amazing things together. We'll become mathematicians as we add and subtract multi-digit numbers, discovering patterns and solving problems. As readers and writers, we'll dive into fascinating non-fiction books and enchanting fairy tales, putting our thoughts and stories onto paper. In the spring, we'll share our voices at our Poetry Café, a celebration I know you'll love. And throughout the year, we'll be hands-on scientists, learning all about the incredible earth around us. Every day will bring new discoveries and growth.

 

I spent my summer at the beach, reading wonderful books, playing with my daughter, and cooking meals for family and friends. Now I am so eager to hear all about your summer adventures! I can't wait to get to know each and every one of you, to learn what makes you smile, what you're curious about, and what makes you uniquely you.

 

This is going to be a spectacular year filled with learning, laughter, and friendship. Welcome to our C2 crew!
