Classroom Expectations

Materials:

 

Please bring the following to class every day:

 

• 1.5 inch Binder 

• 5-tab binder dividers (label binder tabs: Do Now, Notes/HW, Toolboxes, Assessments, Loose leaf paper)

• lined paper

• Folder 

• Pencils!! (use for all math work, these tend to easily get lost)

• Highlighters (2 different colors if possible)

• Charged chromebook

• Highly recommended- Daily planner 

 

Homework Policy:

 

Homework will be assigned frequently. It is posted in the classroom slides and google classroom. It is the expectation that you will do your homework each night that is assigned and you have all your materials needed for class each day.

 

• Homework will be either collected or checked 

• Homework grade will be in Oncourse as a 0 missing, 1 incomplete, 2 complete

• If you find your homework is too difficult, you must SHOW ME WHAT YOU HAVE TRIED in order to receive credit AND/OR email me in advance.  A blank piece of paper is not proof of your attempts.

• If  you miss work due to an absence. It is your responsibility to check google classroom for missed work and/or ask me for any missed materials either through email or upon returning.

 

How is your grade calculated???

 

 

Extra Help:

 

I am available for extra help after school until 3:00 on Wednesdays. Make sure to let me know in advance that you will be stopping by and also come with specific questions.

 

 

Assessment Retakes:

 

You can retake any assessment, the retake grade will be your final grade, even if lower than your initial grade.  Make sure you study! If you wish to retake an assessment let me know and schedule a time after school to complete the retake.

• Unit 3  Systems on Linear Equations and Inequalities

• Unit 4  Piecewise Functions & Exponents and Exponential Functions

• Unit 5  Polynomial and Factoring

• Unit 6  Quadratic Functions and Solving Quadratic Equations

• Unit 7  Working with Functions and Statistics

           

                ***Algebra 1b will completing Units 4-7

 

Keys to success:

 

• Be prepared for class ( bring all materials to class)

• Be organized (with note-taking and homework)

• Plan ahead (for homework and studying)

• Review and Practice (with a friend or classmate)

• If in doubt, ask questions!

 

Conduct and Behavior:

 

• Be respectful and responsible. Success will follow!

• Inappropriate behavior is unacceptable

• Cheating will not be tolerated and will result in a writeup and parental contact

• Food and drinks are not allowed in the classroom (only bottled water)

• Disruptive items are not allowed (music players, cell phones, etc.)
