Welcome to Mrs. LaBauve’s Social Studies Class
Course Overview:
We will be using the Gallopade curriculum this school year. Each student is given one workbook that will be used through the school year.
Required Supplies:
● Pen/Pencil
● Assigned book/workbook, folder/binder
● An open mind and a great attitude toward learning
Classroom Rules: .
1. Be Respectful
a. Students should refrain from outside conversation during class time
b. Students should not talk unless permitted to do so.
c. Students should not get out of their desk unless permitted to do so.
2. Be Responsible
a. Student need to bring all materials to class each day. Extra copies or books will not be given
b. Students are told in advanced about upcoming dates and should plan accordingly.
3. Be a Leader
Attendance:
Students should be prompt to school each day. A day missed affects a student's learning. Please see the school policies for specifics on attendance.
Grades:
Students will be graded on various assessments during the marking period. These are classified as formative/quizzes/projects (40%) and summative/tests (60%).
Homework:
Homework is a very important part in a student's development. Although I may not give homework often, students should take it seriously. Sometimes these assignments may be graded.
Cell Phone policy:
According to ACT Senate Bill 207, students may NOT use personal electronic devices during the instructional day. No CELL PHONES ALLOWED!!!
