Welcome Parents and Guardians

My name is Shonda Moore, and it is my pleasure to introduce myself as your child’s 4th grade
ELA & Social Studies teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. I am thrilled to welcome both you
and your student to my classroom, and I look forward to a year filled with growth, discovery, and
success.

I have been teaching for two decades and I am passionate about creating a classroom
environment where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to learn.
In our ELA classroom, students will have the chance to explore a variety of engaging texts, from
fiction and nonfiction to poetry and drama. They will learn to analyze stories, identify themes,
and make connections to their own lives and the world around them. Writing assignments will
encourage students to organize their thoughts, support their ideas with evidence, and
communicate effectively for different purposes and audiences.

Social Studies is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore the world around them,
understand diverse cultures, and develop critical thinking skills that will serve them throughout
their lives.

Throughout the year, you can expect regular updates about our curriculum, classroom activities,
and your child’s progress. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time with questions or
