Hello & Welcome to Mrs. Reineke’s Reading Class!
Periods 1,2, & 3 will be working on proficiency in reading, writing, and language through a comprehensive approach aligned with the NJSLS-ELA frameworks. Students will engage in close readings of literary and informational texts, strengthen their ability to analyze ideas and arguments, and respond with clear, coherent writing. Instruction will emphasize critical thinking, textual evidence, effective communication, and language precision.
Periods 7,8,& 9 will be focusing on using Just Words as an intervention to study word structure, explicitly teaching how English works to achieve decoding and spelling automatically. I will be teaching strategies that will enable students to read and spell words independently. As the year progresses we will put all knowledge gained into application and building of fluency.
