Miss Punchard's Class

6th Grade Math

Welcome to the 26-27 school year! I am Lindsay Punchard and I am so excited to be teaching your child math this year. I am passionate about helping students to grow in their math skills while becoming confident, independent thinkers. I am looking forward to a year of learning, growing, and having fun with math!

ALL THINGS CURRICULUM

We use the Eureka Squared curriculum through GreatMinds. There are six modules that cover a variety of skills including: ratio concepts, rational numbers, algebraic thinking, geometry, and statistics.

ASSESSMENTS

Students will be assessed throughout the year in a variety of ways through the platform PEAR Assessment. Assessments will include: Eureka Squared End of Module assessments, combined topic quizzes, and weekly bellringer quizzes. These assessments will help me in monitoring student progress, identify areas for growth, and provide support when needed.

HOMEWORK

Homework will be assigned regulary Monday-Thursday to give students opportunity to practice and strengthen their skills they are learning in class. Students will start with an automatic 100 points each nine weeks, but 3 points will be deducted each day they do not complete it. Students are given one homework pass to use each nine weeks.

ZEARN

Students will be regulary using Zearn to practice and reinforce the math skills and concepts taught in class. Zearn can be accessed through your child's Clever account. The weekly goal is a minimum of 3 lessons and all students start off with 30 total points each nine weeks. Each Monday, Zearn grades will be updated through Jcampus. A point is deducted each week that a lesson is not met of their weekly goal. Regular practice will help students stay on track and prepare for upcoming lessons and assessments.
