Book Check-Out

All students will check books out during their scheduled Library classes. They are due back during the next Library class. I see each class in grades K-4 every week. Please try to remind your child(ren) when to bring their books back. All students in grades K-3 will be allowed to borrow 1 book. All students in grades 4 will be allowed to borrow 2 books at a time.

Kindergarten students will be listening to stories by a variety of authors. They will begin to check books out of the library to take home. They will be learning the rules of how to take care of their library book. Books are due back every week when I see them for library.

Students in grades K-3 will develop an appreciation for literature, with a focus on Information Literacy. A variety of genres will be introduced. Students will be able to seek out information using print resources and well as a variety of safe online platforms. They will learn to evaluate information for relevancy as well as accuracy.

In addition, CODING unplugged activities will be incorporated. A makerspace model will have kids developing skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork and collaboration. In the makerspace they will have opportunities to build, create, make, interact and develop solutions.
