As we continue into the second half of the school year, students will build on the skills they have already developed and continue growing as readers, writers, and mathematicians. During this time, we will focus on strengthening phonics, reading sight words, blending sounds to read words, and improving handwriting. Students will participate in daily morning work, reading time, and phonics activities to support their literacy development. In math, students will practice number recognition, counting, number bonds, and basic addition and subtraction skills. Students will also participate in targeted interventions to support phoneme segmentation, letter name fluency, nonsense word reading, and sight word recognition. Throughout the day we will continue exploring science and social studies while building confidence, independence, and a love of learning as we work together to finish the school year strong.
