- Unit 1: Cajun Folktales
Week of August 31st - September 4th: Session 3
In this section, students identify Louisiana culture, Cajun vocabulary, and crops native to Louisiana. Students read “Bouki Over a Barrel” from Lapin Plays Possum and “The Theft of Honey” from Cajun Folktales.
Students will identify story elements including: main characters, setting, events, conflicts, and the lesson.
Students will also compare and contrast the two versions of this folktale.
