Dear Parents,
As the summer comes to an end and the school doors are now open, we are eager to welcome you back. While the students were taking in the sunshine and making memories, we were hard at work preparing and planning for the up and coming change to the 2023-2024 school year. This year, Silver Run will be departmentalizing core content. As such, Mrs. Brunner will be teaching the Language Arts and Writing content and Mrs. Cosgrove will be teaching the Math/Science/Social Studies content. Together, we are a team, working to provide a superior educational experience for your child. With so many parties involved, communication will be key. So, we will have a joint dojo account and we will be hosting a combined parent teacher conference. In addition, there are some classroom expectations that we both feel need to be highlighted:
-All students should arrive promptly at 8:55.
-If your child has a medical condition, please make sure that we, as well as, the school nurse are made aware. If the condition needs any type of medications, such as inhalers, the school nurse must have the treatment plan and medication in the nurse’s office. This will affect your child's ability to participate in any activities off school grounds.
-Students will not be allowed to change their normal dismissal routine without a written note, email, dojo message, or phone call from the office.
-NO CELL PHONES IN THE CLASSROOM! Cell phones become a distraction, they get lost/stolen, and broken. Please have your child leave them at home or zipped in their book bags and in their locker.
-All personal items, jackets/coats, bookbags, lip gloss, mirrors etc need to stay in the students locker.
BE ADVISED:The classrooms do feel chilly sometimes, so your child may want to store an extra sweatshirt in the locker.
-The most important expectation is attendance. Every student should come to school every day. Learning does not stop because a student is absent. The more time a student misses, the more learning they miss, and the harder it is to get caught up.
If you need to contact us about anything you can email or call the school at 856-293- 2470.
Thanks for your time. We look forward to seeing you at the back-to-school night!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Brunner and Mrs. Cosgrove
