Current Events: Current Events will be a consistent assignment for students to work on throughout the year. Students will choose an article from a reputable news source that speaks to a larger issue in our society. Further details will be given before we begin.

Debate Day - Debate Friday should be an opportunity throughout the school year to talk about controversial topics and to hear different perspectives and points of view. It is a vital skill to be able to articulate an argument as well as listen to another’s. Around once a marking period we will pick a different topic to debate and we will do preparatory research for the debate. Ideally, the topic will be agreed upon by me and the students and will have a connection to the current content. The dates for debate days are below.
