Dear Families,

It is truly a pleasure to welcome you and your child to 2nd grade at Madison James Foster! I would like to take a moment to share a little about myself.

This is my fourth year in the Monroe City School System, but I bring over 20 years of experience working with children in various educational and developmental settings. My passion for teaching and learning continues to grow each year, and I am so excited to work with your child this school year.

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education at Grand Canyon University, as I am committed to continually improving my teaching practices and supporting all learners.

I strongly believe that open and honest communication between the teacher, parent, and student is essential to creating a learning environment that is positive and productive. Learning happens best in a safe, welcoming, and encouraging space—and that is exactly what I strive to create in our classroom every day.

In our 2nd grade classroom, my goal is to build a warm, fun, and engaging atmosphere where students feel motivated to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. You can support your child’s success by sending them to school well-rested and ready to learn. A good start to the day helps set the tone for joyful learning!

Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions, concerns, or simply want to check in. I will also be sending home regular communication throughout the year to keep you updated on your child’s progress and classroom events.

I am looking forward to building a strong partnership with you and helping your child have a wonderful 2nd grade year!

Sincerely,

Ms. Ford
