Below you will find important information for our school and classroom:

 

SPECIALS SCHEDULE:

We use a five day schedule for our Specials. The first day of school will be “day 1”.  Whenever there is a day off, we continue our “days” on the day we return to school. Below is a sample Specials rotation:

 

Day 1: Spanish

Day 2: Gym/Health

Day 3: Music

Day 4: Art

Day 5: Library/Computers

 

LUNCH:

Kindergarten will be eating lunch in the cafeteria. Children have the option to either buy lunch or bring lunch from home. If your child chooses to bring lunch from home, please be sure his/her lunch box is labeled. Please also practice opening and closing packages and containers. For more information regarding buying lunch and the lunch program, please visit our school website.

 

SNACK:

Please send in a small, healthy snack and drink every day.  No nuts or peanut butter products may be eaten in the classroom.  For the safety of our children, please check all labels.  Snacks may come to school in your child’s lunchbox or be packed separately. Please also send in a labeled water bottle with your child each day, as we do not have a water fountain in our classroom. Ensure that the water bottle can be secured easily to reduce spills.

 

FOLDER:

Your child will be provided with a folder that is to go back and forth from home and school each day. Please check and empty the folder daily. Anything that you send into school can go in that folder. The folder needs to be returned to school each day.

 

BIRTHDAYS:

Birthdays are the best! We love to celebrate birthdays in school, but at this time, we are not celebrating with food items. Your child may bring in a non-food item to give to classmates, such as: pencils, erasers, bubbles, etc. Your child may also have a guest reader join the class to read a special book, as well bring in special napkins for classmates to enjoy for our snack time. We will be sure to make birthdays a special and exciting experience!

 

HOME AND SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP:

We will be using Seesaw Learning Portfolios for much of our communication.  You will receive personalized information about accessing your child's portfolio with your beginning of school paperwork.  We will also explore this platform more on Back to School night.  Please make sure I have your updated email address so that we can stay connected that way as well.  If you need to contact me, email ([email protected]). I am looking forward to establishing and fostering a strong home and school connection in order to help each child reach his/her goals and have the best year in Kindergarten.
