-Complete reading Esperanza Rising (Unit 1 novel)

-Esperanza Rising multiple choice Assessment for final two chapters (50 points)

- Esperanza Rising AR test (read aloud) (50 points) and 6 AR points for 2nd 9 weeks!

-CWT narrative planning

-CWT typing and submission (100 points)

 

 

10/13 - 10/17

FALL BREAK

 

10/6 - 10/10

- Begin STAR Test
- Complete star test/Begin Avocadoes and Asparagus Assessment (100 points)
- Complete assessment and type the narrative we completed on 10/1 (50 points - already completed, just typing and submitting)
- Lexia/Make up day (Tiger Trot day!)
Friday - Virtual day assignment: 30 point grade

 

9/29 - 10/3
**MCSB Progress Monitoring Assessment scheduled for 9/16 is still not available to be administered. Once it is given, I will let you know since it is a grade.**
-Analyze previously read excerpts from Esperanza Rising
-Explain how characters advance plot and develop irony
-Read The Gift of the Magi
- 25 point quiz on The Gift of the Magi (Tuesday)
- 50 point narrative continuation from Jim or Della's pov  (Tuesday and Wednesday)
- Make connections of lessons learned for characters from both texts
- Determine effectiveness of dialogue

 

 

9/22 - 9/26

**MCSB Progress Monitoring Assessment scheduled for 9/16 is still not available to be administered. Once it is given, I will let you know since it is a grade.**

Our Section 3 Assessment will be on Wednesday, 9/24/25 for a 100 point grade.

Analyze previously read excerpts from Esperanza Rising

Explain Dialogue/Sensory Detail and Language usage for imagery

Complete Section 3 Assessment

Read chapters 10 and 11 of Esperanza Rising

Explain the lesson Esperanza has learned so far

Determine theme by analyzing character action

District wide 6th grade ela progress monitoring assessment for a grade. (This was originally planned for last week but received late)

Chapters 5 and 6 of Esperanza Rising and excerpts from Out of the Dust. Our main focus will be on how the authors use dialogue and description in character development.
