💬 Meet the Teacher & Team

 

Welcome! My name is Mrs. Octavia Gloston-Scott, and I’ve had the honor of teaching alternate assessment students in grades 6–8 here at Lake Pontchartrain Elementary since August 2021.  I’m passionate about creating a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

 

I’m blessed to work alongside two incredible paraprofessionals who help make our classroom a nurturing and successful space:

• Ms. Glenda – Ms. Glenda is truly my right hand and a vital part of our classroom family. She is hands-on, patient, and always ready to support students with care and consistency. Whether it's helping with life skills or providing one-on-one instruction, she plays an essential role in our day-to-day routines.

• Ms. Margie – Ms. Margie brings warmth, structure, and a calm presence to our team. She’s experienced in working with students of all needs and supports classroom instruction, behavior management, and student engagement with kindness and professionalism.

Together, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and empowering learning space for every child. We look forward to partnering with you this school year!

We believe every student has the ability to grow when learning is made accessible, consistent, and meaningful. In my classroom, we focus on functional academics, life skills, social development, and fostering independence in a safe, inclusive environment.
