WELCOME to 2024-2025 school year!

 

I am looking forward to teaching at Memorial High school and sharing my extensive knowledge and passion for art with my students. Art can play an important role in child's educational development. Students will acquire essential drawing and painting skills, practice color theory, composition, work on STEAM projects, develop imagination, and learn art history.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

 

#6346 2D ART

This studio course is an introduction to 2D Art. Students will explore the elements and principles of design as it applies to 2 dimensional works of art. They will explore and develop skills in two-dimensional art forms, including drawing, painting, and various visual art mediums. Students will also learn to appreciate and understand works of art created throughout history, using proper terminology and vocabulary.

 

#6280 PRINTMAKING GRAPHICS

This course will introduce students to various printmaking techniques, emphasizing technical skills and artistic expression. Students will explore different methods of creating prints, including block printing, intaglio, and monoprinting. 2-D Art is a prerequisite for this course. This course fulfills the Visual and Performing Arts requirement.

 

#6290 ADVANCED PRINTMAKING GRAPHICS

Students will develop more advanced printmaking skills in various forms of studio printing and explore advanced design elements. Printmaking Graphics is a prerequisite for this course. This course fulfills the Visual and Performing Arts requirement.

 

#6345 3D ART

This studio course is an introduction to 3D Art. Students will explore the elements and principles of design as it applies to 3 dimensional works of art. They will acquire experience with the use of a variety of art materials such as cardboard, clay, yarn, plaster, and others. They will create their own original works of art such as sculpture and craft objects. Students will also learn to appreciate and understand works of art created throughout history, using proper terminology and vocabulary.
