Welcome to Minnie Ruffin Elementary 2023-2024 school year! My name is Mrs. Smith, and I am so excited to be teaching the 2nd grade ELA this year! I have great lessons and books planned for this year and I look forward to a wonderful year! 

 

Each week, the other 2nd grade teacher and I will send home our "Week at a Glance" with lesson information, homework and other important dates and announcements, so be sure to check their folders! 

 

Homework will be sent home every day, so make sure to check your child’s folders. There is a side with "Keep at home' and a side with "return to school". Please check these folders daily. 

 

We are also using the website and app Class Dojo this year. Helps you monitor your child’s behavior and will be the easiest way to communicate with their teachers! We will be sending weekly grades and conduct sheets home. Please review these with your child, sign them and return to scdhool the next day. 

 

I am here along with Ms. Philley to make 2nd grade the BEST YEAR! Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns!
