Hello parents and guardians,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am Ms. Libby. I am the band, orchestra, and general music teacher for Stony Brook.
I am very excited to be working with all the amazing students here at Stony Brook, and I cannot wait to share a fulfilling and enriching experience with them. No matter the grade level, students will get to develop their voices through singing, explore musical topics with instruments, and experience a variety of music from different cultures.
In music class, we encourage creativity and allow students to have an outlet outside of their general education. For students who want to continue that outlet outside of the general music class, we offer multiple ensemble experiences. Any students wanting to continue creating music through an instrumental program will get to work with me. Students will have lessons during the day as well as rehearsals at the start of the school day. Currently, students that are in fourth grade have the opportunity to sign up for our string program. Students who are in fifth grade are eligible to sign up for the band program or continue making music in our orchestra program. More information about signing up for these programs and when lessons will be starting will be coming out soon!
It is exciting to be back in the classroom, seeing all the students, and creating music together again.
