Background:

I grew up in Long Valley and graduated from West Morris Central High School. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist from the University of Maryland. I spent eight years living in the D.C. Metropolitan area teaching second and third grades in Bethesda, Maryland. I returned to Long Valley in 2021 as a Reading Specialist at Old Farmer's Road Elementary School. I provided literacy and math support for grades K through 5. I am now at Long Valley Middle School supporting students with their reading and writing skills.

Trainings and Programs/Testing Used:

-I have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education. The Orton-Gillingham methodology is a Science of Reading-backed, direct, multi-sensory teaching strategy with systematic, sequential lessons focused on phonics.

-I am also trained in Linda-Mood Bell's Seeing Stars program to develop symbol imagery for phonemic awareness, sight words and spelling.
