Spanish is an academic course at SLG and is part of the school’s curriculum. Students are required to pass Spanish in order to move on to the next grade level. Although Spanish may not appear as a graded course on report cards in the traditional sense, students who do not meet the requirements are required to attend summer school to successfully complete the course or receiving a grade lower than an M may inhibit them from participating in certain extracurricular activities (for example, ambassador program/student council etc.) as they move up.
For this reason, but not limited to this reason, Spanish should be treated like any other academic subject, with the same expectations for participation, preparation, and mastery of content.
