Social Studies Grading Policy:

• Homework/Classwork = 20%
• Tests/Quizzes 20%
• Projects = 50%
• Current Events Journal = 10%
• Extra Credit = Teacher's Discretion.

 

Brass Castle Grading Scale:

 

• A    90 – 100%
• B    80 – 89%
• C    70 – 79%
• D    65 – 69%
• F    Below a 65%

 

 

• Late Project Policy: For each day late, 10% will be docked from the final project grade. After 5 days late, the student can still earn half - credit if the project is turned in completed during the marking period it was assigned. 
• Late Homework Policy: In the event homework was assigned, and reviewed during the next class period, a zero will be placed in the gradebook. 
  
• Absent Work Policy: When a student misses class, regardless of the reason, they are responsible for making up the work. For each day absent, the student gets an additional day to complete the work. For example, 1 absence = 1 extra day, and 2 absences = 2 extra days.
• Plagiarism/Cheating Policy: If a student is caught plagiarizing a writing assignment, or cheating on a test/quiz, the student will receive an automatic zero, the assignment will have to be redone at a later date, both grades will be averaged together, and Mr. Dimitriou will contact the parent(s)/guardian(s).
