WELCOME

Hello!

My name is Leanne Parker and I am excited to be a part of the Millville ELA department.  I will be working closely with the other 8th grade teachers to coordinate our reading materials, assignments and assessments.  I can’t wait to get to know each and every one of you!  I have great enthusiasm for the upcoming year, and my expectations are high, but realistic and achievable.  You are getting older, and as such, you must begin to be held accountable for your own actions.  This will help you succeed in school and in life.  My classroom needs to be a safe environment for learning.  To achieve this I expect you to respect yourself, your classmates, and me.  I expect you to come to class prepared, to follow the rules, and most importantly, to be ready and willing to learn.

For both you and your parents, it is important to make it a daily habit to check your Infinite Campus for your current grade.  You should also be checking both the “stream” and “classwork” section of your Google classroom for important announcements and the work assigned for the day.  You should also check your Gmail at least once a day, as I will send out reminders of missing work and comments on the work you turned in through Gmail.

Again, open lines of communication are key and I am ready and willing to help you achieve your potential.  Please email me with any concerns or questions that you may have, and together, we can make this school year a successful learning opportunity!
