Greetings Parents/Guardians and Students,

 

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at WSJE! My name is Ms. Phyllis Charles, I will be your child’s teacher this year along with my Teaching Assistant, Ms. Louise Jones. We are so excited to begin another wonderful year with you and your amzing child. 

 

This year, our school theme is "WSJE: A Carival of Learning!" and in our classroom, that means creating a joyful, supportive environment where every student can grow, participate, and feel sucessful.  Just like a carnival brings a variety of fun and engaging experierce, our learning will be hands-on, personalized, and full of discovery.

 

As an Alternate Assessment Teacher, I will design instruction and activities specifically to meet your child's individual needs. We'll focus on meaningful progress in academics, communications, life skills, and social delvelpment celebrating each milstone, no matter how big or small.  Every student has something incredible to contribute, and I'm commited to helping them shine.

 

Although our classroom is a place where learning looks different, but the goals are the same: growth, idependence, joy, and belonging.  I truly believe this will be a year full of wonder and breakthroughs. Please know that I value your partnership and open communication.  Together, we'll make sure this school year is a positive and enriching experience for your child.
