Dear First Grade Students and Families,

 

Welcome to first grade! I am so excited to have you in my class this year. I hope you have enjoyed summer and I look forward to hearing about your favorite memories! 

 

I wanted to share a little bit about myself with you before the school year starts! 

 

This will be my fourth year teaching and my third year at Adamsville School! I grew up in Bridgewater and I am so excited to be teaching in the same school district teaching! I am the youngest of five children and have a niece and 2 nephews. Baking is one of my favorite hobbies outside of school! I am excited to meet and get to know all of you! It is going to be a fun and exciting school year!

 

I hope this will be a special year for you! It is my goal to make memories with our classroom family and to make learning fun! Our days will be filled with many wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing. 

 

Orientation

 

We will be hosting an in person Open House on Tuesday September 5th from 1:30-2:30 PM. 

 

• You may enter through the main doors or back foyer doors (shown on attached map or the link Open House Info ) at the designated time. Staff members will be in the hallways to assist you. 

 

School Supplies

 

Below is a list of suggested school supplies for the school year: 

 

• Backpack (to store take home folder, water, snack/lunch) 

• Headphones (will be stored in classroom) 

• Extra Set of Clothes (will be stored in lockers) 

 

 

 

 

 

Snacks/Drinks/Lunch

 

Please send your child to school with a water bottle, healthy snack, and lunch. You may pack a lunch or buy lunch at school. Lunch is no longer free. Click here to apply for free/reduced priced lunches  All snacks must be peanut & tree nut free.

 

First Day of School Name Tag

 

In order to help our youngest learners quickly find their homeroom and teacher it would be helpful for them to come to school the first couple of days with a name tag. See linked example of a student name tag that includes student first and last name and teacher name - Student Name Tag.

Communication 

 

I will be sending out weekly newsletters. The newsletters will provide schoolwide information along with classroom updates. The newsletters will be sent out every Friday. Most of the information will include: upcoming events, what is due, new updates and information regarding our classroom. I will also include additional resources that will be available for you.
