Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to first grade! We are so excited to be your first grade teachers this year in Room 105!
We hope everyone has had a relaxing summer. Here is some information we would like to share about ourselves.
Mrs. Rudolph- This year will be my 25th year teaching in Bridgewater-Raritan School District. I have taught first, second, and third grade. I spent most of my summer on vacations to the beach with my family and friends, hanging out with my dog Scarlet, reading, and relaxing. Even though I love summer, I am counting down the days until the beginning of the school year! This year will be filled with lots of fun and new experiences. We are going to have an excellent year together!
Miss Hickey- This year will be my 6th year of teaching in Bridgewater-Raritan School District. I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grade special education. I spent most of my summer as a camp counselor, relaxing on the beach, and playing golf. Summer is coming to an end, and I can’t wait to be back at Milltown School. I look forward to a year full of growth and great memories!
First grade will be filled with many memories, adventures, and exciting opportunities to learn and explore the world around us. Our goal is to facilitate a classroom environment where each student will achieve success and become a confident learner. Through partnerships between home and school, we know that together we will make this year spectacular!

Please bring the following items on the first day of school:
*A photo of yourself with your family 3” x 5” or 4" x 6"
(no larger please) from your summer adventures. We will share our pictures and our favorite summer memories during the first two weeks of school as we get to know one another and build our classroom community. The picture will then be hung on our classroom door for the year.
*Headphones to be used with Chromebooks for in class activities and technology (no wireless headphones please). Please make sure that the headphones that your child chooses are comfortable for your child to wear, and place them in a zip loc bag labeled with your child’s name.
* 2 boxes of 24 crayons labeled with your child’s name
*2 thin tip black Expo brand dry erase markers
*A special, decorative, sturdy folder labeled with your child’s name that your child will bring back and forth to school for reading homework assignments.
*A healthy nut-free snack everyday and a water bottle

The first day of school for the students is Tuesday September 2nd. Back To School Night for the parents to attend will be held on Monday, September 8th from 6:00-8:00pm! You will find out more information about our class, and all of the exciting things that your child will be doing and learning this year!
