It is very important to establish a good classroom discipline, and I believe that it is essential to each child’s success, confidence and well-being. It is of utmost importance that each child feels safe and secure in the classroom environment. In addition, it is important that each child learns to develop self-discipline and good work habits in order to think independently and develop their problem solving abilities.
I base my classroom rapport and discipline around a central concept called “The Power of Three”. This concept asks students three questions:
-How can I take care of myself?
-How can I take care of others?
-How can I take care of the classroom?
These three questions create a way of thinking that promotes a sense of community in the classroom, which allows students to contribute ideas and responsibilities.
