Hello everyone! I'm Mr. Lemon, and I'm your Social Studies teacher this year!

 

This marks my sixth year here at HHMS, and I couldn't be more excited to embark on another journey with all of you. While I'll get to know each of you throughout the year, I wanted to share a little bit about myself.

 

My name is Derrick Lemon and I, my wife, Becca, our son, Oliver, and our two dogs, Jackie and Wilson, call Denham Springs home. I'm a proud honors graduate of Southern University, where I earned my BA in History – Go Jags! Fun fact: I actually paid my way through college by playing music around the greater Baton Rouge area. When I'm not in the classroom, you'll often find me enjoying time with my family or in my woodworking shop.

 

This year, our focus will be on American History, spanning from Westward Expansion all the way to the Obama Presidency. I'm really looking forward to a fantastic year of learning and discovery with each of you!
