Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year I hope everyone had a fun and safe summer break. I would like to take the time to introduce myself my name is Naomi Walker and I will be your child’s special education teacher this school year, the praprofessional in my room is Ms. Richardson. We will be working with your child on his/her Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals.
We are excited to be working with your child, and we look forward to seeing the progress that will be made. Our goals for your child this year include maintaining high expectations by learning strategies and making modifications when needed.
My classroom rules and expectations are quite simple always raise you hand, respect each other, keep hands, feet and objects to yourself, always follow directions, and think before you act or speak.
Ms. Richardson and I will be with your child in their regular classroom for 45 minutes and they will come my classroom for 1 hour Monday through Thursday. On test day, Friday, they will be in my room most of the day to receive their accommodations and extend time. Once test are graded, they will be given back to their teachers to be recorded. You will not receive grades from me but if you would like to discuss your child’s grades I’m more than happy to do so.
