Grading & Academic Progress
Students will be assessed throughout the school year using a variety of assignments, classwork, projects, quizzes, tests, and other assessments. The four core subject areas are English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Each subject is divided into two grading categories. Formative assessments (40%) help teachers monitor student understanding throughout the learning process. Summative assessments (60%) measure student learning following instruction. Students will receive at least nine grades per subject during each nine-week grading period, including a minimum of 5 Formative Grades and 4 Summative Grades.
