THEATRE 1

 

Purpose:

 

Theatre 1 is designed to introduce students to all areas of theater. Students will immerse themselves into the production world through acting, design, and history. Students will analyze text and use context clues and critical thinking to create on a daily basis. Performing and practical skills related to the field of theater will be explored as well as 21st Century skills in collaboration and creation.

- Voice & Speech

- Technical Theater & Design   

- The American Musical

THEATRE 2

 

Purpose: 

Theatre 2 is designed to dig deeper into the history and culture of theater. It will give students an opportunity to both write, perform, and produce their own plays. Overall, students will focus on collaborative work while devising and creating with their individual thoughts and ideas. Communication with peers and audience members will be a consistent theme of this course.

- Ensemble Building          

- Theatre History          

- Theatre for Social Justice & Playwriting 
- Acting in A Scene           

- Acting in a Play          

- Producing Theatre For Youth               

 

                         

 

THEATRE WORKSHOP

 

Purpose:.

Theatre Workshop is designed to give students a fully immersive performance and

directing experience. It will provide students the opportunity to cast and direct students

(from the Theatre 2 class), collaborate on set, costume, lighting, and make up design.
Students will also have opportunity to perform in a wide variety of scenes,
expanding their experience as an actor and exposing them to a variety of playwrights.

- Acting in a Scene & in a Play   

- Directing a Play
