Grading Policy for MATH 3Q and GEOMETRY Q:
Your grade for each marking period is a combination of:
- TESTS: 40% (open notes except for pre-test and post-test)
- Quizzes: 20% (open notes )
- HOMEWORK: 20% (always show work for full credit)
- CLASSWORK**: 20%
**CLASSWORK GRADE INCLUDES: “Do Now!”, short unannounced quizzes at the beginning or end of the class, Exit SLips, class project, participating in class individually as well as in groups, being on task, being prepared for class (with notebook, pencil, handouts, assignments and calculator), solving problems on the board and contributing to a positive learning environment.
- Always bring your notebook, pen/pencil and assignments that are essential for your class.
- Homework must be promptly done. If you did not do your homework, you will get a zero for that Homework.
- If you missed a quizz or a test due to an excused absence, arrangements may be made to complete the assignment when you return to school. If you did not meet with me to make arrangements, you will get a zero for that assignment.
There are 4 Marking Periods in one year. Your numerical grade for each marking period is multiplied by 0.22 (22%), You also take a Final Exam at the end of the school year. Your numerical grade for this exam is multiplied by 0.12 (12%). All these scores are added to calculate your final grade in the class. You need a final score of 65 or more to pass the class.
