Course:  Algebra I A

Course Description:

This course will develop the necessary skills in algebra in order to: connect algebra to geometry, connect algebra to probability and statistics, connect ideas between mathematics and other disciplines, learn how to study mathematics, develop the ability to explore, conjecture, and reason logically, solve non-routine problems, and communicate about and through mathematics. 

Topics include:  use of variables, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in algebra, slopes and lines, exponents and powers, quadratic equations and square roots, polynomials, linear systems, and factoring.
