Dear Families,

  • Daily Reading Practice: Please encourage your child to read daily and discuss the stories we are exploring in class. This will enhance their comprehension and critical thinking skills.

  • Short Stories Focus: This month, we will be diving into three engaging short stories:

    • "The Possibility of Evil" by Shirley Jackson: A story that explores themes of perception and moral ambiguity.
    • "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant: A tale about the consequences of vanity and the value of honesty.
    • "The Lady, or the Tiger?" by Frank R. Stockton: A thought-provoking story that challenges readers to consider choices and consequences.

 

Learning Resources: To support your child's learning at home, I encourage you to explore the following websites together:

  • IXL Learning: Provides interactive practice problems. Your child can redo skills assigned in class and work on their "Trouble Spots." IXL Language Arts
  • Edcite: Offers many skills to practice in math as well as English. Edcite

Celebrations from the Week:
