Mr. Gordon
WELCOME to the 2026-2027 School Year!
I'm excited to welcome you all and look forward to a successful year of learning. I can't wait to see what we'll accomplish together!
Please know that student health and safety remain my top priority in the classroom as we create a positive, productive learning environment.
We will use the Eureka Math® 2 curriculum to dive into key seventh-grade math concepts. To measure your progress, we'll use a mix of fun and challenging online tools, including pre-tests, post-tests, and engaging project-based assessments.
We'll focus on six modules. They include the following:
Module 1: Ratios and Proportional Relationships
Module 2: Rational Numbers
Module 3: Expressions and Equations
Module 4: Percents and Proportional Relationships
Module 5: Statistics and Probability
Module 6: Geometry

Our Goal and Curriculum
Our primary goal is to empower every student to succeed in Math and Math Lab classes. This year, we will be working through six instructional modules. At the end of each lesson, students will receive problem sets; if they do not complete them in class, they will be assigned as homework and should be turned in the next day.
Classroom Policies
Students are responsible for all work and tests missed due to an absence. Assignments will be due the day after the student returns. For late assignments resulting from unexcused absences, the highest possible grade is an 84% ("C"). If a student misses a test, they are responsible for scheduling a make-up time promptly.
For additional support, tutorial videos and recorded lessons will be available in Google Classroom as needed.
Communication
I look forward to a successful school year and to partnering with you to support your child's learning. To keep classes uninterrupted, the main office will not transfer any phone calls to the classroom during instructional time. If you wish to schedule a conference, please contact the guidance counselor's office directly to set up an appointment.
You can reach me at (318) 322-1683. Thank you in advance for your assistance, patience, and cooperation.
