Mr. Gordon
Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2024 -2025 School Year! As we continue to navigate the evolving COVID-19 situation, please know that student health and safety remain a top priority. I am excited to see the faces of every one of my students.
We will use Eureka Math 2 to teach and learn 7th-grade concepts that align with the state's common core standards. To assess student learning, we will use a variety of online tools, including pre-tests, post-tests, and project-based assessments.
Six Modules of Study will be our focus. They are:
Module 1: Ratios and Proportional Relationship
Module 2: Rational Numbers
Module 3: Expressions and Equations
Module 4: Percents and Proportional Relationships
Module 5: Statistics and Probability
Module 6: Geometry

The goal is to empower all students to succeed in Math 7 and Math 7 lab classes. The six modules include Problem Sets at the end of each lesson. Your child may be expected to complete those for Homework if not completed in class. Students are responsible for making up missed assignments and tests. The assignments will be due the day after they return. Any late assignments resulting from unexcused absences may not receive a grade higher than a "C" (84%). If your child is absent for a test, it is his/her responsibility to make up that test.
Tutorial videos and recorded lessons will be available in Google Classroom as needed.
I can be reached at (318) 322-1683. Calls are not transferred to the classroom during the school day to avoid the interruption of instruction. If a conference is desired please contact the guidance office to set up an appointment. I look forward to partnering with you. Thank you, in advance, for your assistance, patience, and cooperation.
I am looking forward to a successful school year!
