We begin reading our Unit 3 text Animal Farm. Students continue to prepare for their culminating writing task as the end of the unit. The prompt for this unit's culminating writing task is:
"Throughout the unit, you have read texts about the construction of persuasion and its impact on the beliefs and actions of others. Write a five-paragraph argumentative essay in which you state and logically support a claim in response to the following:
Is the power of persuasion more likely to be beneficial or detrimental to people?
Consider the various ways individuals' beliefs and actions were impacted by persuasion in the unit texts. Use evidence from Animal Farm and at least two additional texts in the unit to support your claim.
