Hello. I am MS. Kilcrease and I am a Certified Special Education teacher with the Monroe City School District. I am currently teaching at Shelling Elementary School. I am a dedicated Special Education Inclusion Teacher for 1st and 2nd grade. With a passion for inclusive learning and a heart for every child, I play a vital role in ensuring that all students, regardless of ability, feel supported, challenged, and celebrated in the classroom.
Mry Role and Responsibilities are as follows: Collaborating with general education teachers to create inclusive learning environments, Provide individualized support for students with diverse learning needs, Implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) with care and consistency, Using differentiated instruction to meet students where they are academically and socially, and Promoting social-emotional growth and peer relationships through inclusive paractices.
My teaching philosopy is one of belief that every child has the potential to thrive when given the right tools, encouragement, and opportunities. Inclusion isn't just a strategy it's a mindset that values diversity and fosters empathy, resilience, and community.
I have taken the following classroom approach: small, whole group and on-on-one to meet each student goals, multi-sensory learning techniques to engage all types of learners, positive behavior support and proactive classroom management, and frequent communication with parents to build strong partnerships.
"My goal as their teacher is to help every student feel seen, heard, and empowered. Inclusion means every child belongs and I'm here to make sure they know it."
