Welcome to Pre-K!

   Hello Everyone

Welcome to Pre-K at the New York Avenue School! I would like to start this letter by introducing myself- My name is Dawn McGhee, and this will be my 29th year teaching kindergarten & pre-school at the Somers Point School District. I am looking forward to starting a successful school year with your child whether in person or virtually! It is going to be a GREAT year. 

 

 Items Needed for Pre-K:

• Spare change of clothes (including pants, shirt, underwear, and socks).

• Diapering items including pack of diapers and pack of wipes (only for students currently in diapers or working on potty training).

• Spare mask to keep at school. 

• Backpack large enough to hold a folder and daily projects/ items sent home.

• Reusable water bottle, sent in daily, to be used for snack and in place of water fountains. 

• A small daily snack sent in the child’s back pack each day- suggestions include individually packaged goldfish, pretzels, teddy grahams, etc. ( snack items that are easy to open, eat, and clean up).

• Plastic pencil case to store individual materials for use in school

 

Please be patient, as we navigate our new teaching adventure. I am super excited for this school year to begin and cannot wait to work with you and your child this year!
