Welcome to my very own website! This website will help show some of the different platforms we will be using during REMOTE learning. Some will be more familiar than others but ALL resources will be useful during this time.

ZOOM will be used for ALL GRADES. A link for my class will be provided once I make it this week. During ZOOM I will meet with students virtually discuss with them previous assinments and new ones. It will be great to see everyone but just keep the guidelines in mind.

Seesaw is a new resource that Somerdale Park is utilizing this year FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS ONLY. I believe I will hop on board for my elemetary students to keep everyone on the same page. This is where elementary students will go to receive and complete assignments.

Everyone should be familiar with Somerdale's infamous OneNote. If not, it is simply the platform that we have been using for years here at Somerdale Park. This platform will be utilized by MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS. This is where they will receive and complete assignments.

Code.org is a website I have used in the past to supplement our robotics here at Somerdale Park. I will be using it more especially during full remote to help keep coding skills sharp as well as enhance new skills. This will be used for BOTH middle AND elementary students.

Although I have not used scratch as much in the past, I will potentially be using it in the future. It is a little more complex than code.org and has more in depth projects. It is another platform to enhance coding skills. Again without robots in class, it is still important that students stay sharp with their coding skills. As code.org is more of a guided curriculum, Scratch is more of a blank canvas and allows students more freedom to extend their projects further. The sky is the limit! This will be used by MIDDLE school students.

Similar to scratch and code.org, scratch jr is essentially a more basic version of scratch. Not as complex a little more guided. This will be used by ELEMENTARY students.

Phet Simulations is the stage for virtual expiriments. I love a lot of these simulations as students get to apply skills that they typically would in the classroom. Although not hands on, the simulations eliminate accidents that might happen in the lab as well as set up and clean up. They are very easy to use and BOTH MIDDLE and ELEMENTARY students will use this platform.
