Curriculum Overview:
Science: In our science lessons, we will delve into various scientific concepts, encouraging students to ask questions, make observations, and investigate the natural world. We will be following the Amplify Science 4th-grade curriculum, which covers topics such as Energy and Conversion, Vision and Light, Earth’s Features, Waves, and Energy. This comprehensive curriculum is designed to engage and inspire young scientists, promoting a deep understanding of scientific principles and fostering critical thinking skills.
Social Studies: Our social studies curriculum will focus on Louisiana Bayou Bridges Grade 4. We will explore the world's early civilizations, from the first human societies to the development of complex civilizations around the globe. Students will have the opportunity to study cave art, examine Neolithic pottery, discover cuneiform and hieroglyphics, explore pyramids and ancient cities, and learn about the ancient roots of democracy. Additionally, they will read about the growth of the Chinese and Roman empires and explore the development of the Americas, including the mighty Maya.
