Week 5: 4/20-4/24 

Students will be finishing up learning about the Renaissance. Students will learn about key topics, influential artists, scientists, and thinkers, and sponsors. 

 

Week 6: 4/27-5/1

Students will learn how the inventions and advancements of the Renaissance led to the Age of Exploration and the discovery of the Americas by the Europeans. This is the last topic of 6th Grade World History and is where 7th Grade US History will begin next year. 

 

Week 7: 5/4-5/8

Students will begin reviewing topics they've studied this year, working backwards from the Renaissance and Middle Ages. Students will review West Africa expansion and trade, Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece. 

 

Week 8: 5/11-5/15 

Students will finish reviewing topics from this school year. They will review the River Valley Civilizations (Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, India), the lives of early humans, and geography and factors of migration. 

 

A final exam will be given in week 9 (May 18- 22). This exam will be for the teacher to assess how much each student has learned. The exam will be multiple choice with some written response questions. This will not be for a grade but for evaluation purposes only.
