Dear Parents,
I am so excited to begin the new school year with your child. Kindergarten is such a special time to learn, laugh, and play. Below is a list of school supplies that each kindergarten student will need. Please send them in with your child on the first day of school or bring them to "Meet the Teacher" on Wednesday, August 28th. Thank you!
Each child should come to school each day with his/her backpack, folder, healthy snack, and lunch. Please read the information below for further details.
-
One standard size backpack- Your child’s backpack comes to school each day. It should be large enough to transport a folder, a snack and a lunch bag/lunchbox. Your child should be able to open/close the backpack with ease. A preschool sized backpack is too small.
-
An inexpensive set of headphones- Each child is requested to bring a set of lightweight, inexpensive headphones to use in class. Please place them in a ziplock bag with your child’s first and last name printed on it. Please no ear buds.
-
Pencil/Supply Box- Please send a plastic pencil/supply box to school for your child. Please do not send a fabric supply box. The inexpensive plastic ones work best! (Feel free to glue or tape a picture of your family inside!)
-
Crayola Crayons- 24 count Box
-
Scissors- Child-size scissors for your child to use
-
White 1-inch Binder
-
Glue Sticks
-
Play Doh-Please send in 2-3 containers of play doh for your child to use during literacy, math and creative play centers
-
Rest Towel- Please be sure your child brings a child-sized towel on the first day of school. A rest period is built into our schedule. The rest towel will be sent home often for laundering.
-
Water bottle-please label with your child’s name
-
Snack- Please pack your child’s snack separately from his/her lunch. A reusable bag works well and helps your child distinguish snack from lunch. The snack must be one small, healthy food item. (Suggestions: applesauce pouch, crackers, dried cereal, fruit, raw veggies, crackers, granola bar)
-
Lunch- Lunch must be brought from home or purchased at school. If your child brings his/her lunch from home, it should be in a lunchbox or lunch bag. Please be sure your child’s name is on it.
*If your child is purchasing lunch at school, and does not have an account established, please put the lunch money in an envelope with your child's name and the words "LUNCH MONEY" clearly written on the front.*
Feel free to place your child’s supplies in a bag and bring them to "Meet the Teacher" labeled with your child’s name. I will have an area for you to place it in, so your child does not need to bring it in on the first day of school!
